Can I reinstall Chromium over a corrupted Chromium instal

I installed Chromium OS on my old Lenovo windows laptop several years ago. It has been running fine until just recently. It will not boot. The Lenovo splash screen appears then something in the upper left corner flashes and it restarts the boot process. It does this over and over. So, my question is, can I create a new USB installer and install Chromium over this (apparently corrupted) install? Thank you.

yes, should work fine to reinstall on top
