Hello,
I am trying to use a Keychron K2 external keyboard with my Pixelbook,
it has a switch to select "Windows" and "macOS" mode, this alters the
behavior of the top row keys.
In order to properly use the keyboard on a Linux system I had to keep
it in "Windows" mode and add fnmode=2 to hid_apple module.
I have not been able to make the keyboard work as I expected on Chrome
OS, in Windows mode I never get the function keys, and the media keys
layout is the one of the keyboard, not the chromebook new default that
I'd like.
In macOS mode I get function keys while pressing the Fn key on
keyboard, and the keyboard media keys (not the chromebook new layout).
Also I could not switch super and alt key as I like.
I am trying to figure how the Chrome OS settings work:
Is the "Treat top row keys as function keys" in Settings > Keyboard
pane is related to the fnmode option of hid_apple module?
Do the Keyboard settings apply to the external keyboard as well?
I tried modifiying the keys in the upper part of the page to no avail
on the external keyboard, the built-in one did receive the settings,
is this expected?
