Hi. I have one of the new Dell Chromebooks and I'd like to get legacy boot working with it but so far haven't had much luck. I was able to put the Chromebook into dev mode and enable the USB boot and legacy BIOS options via 'crossystem'. Unfortunately, when I press ctrl-l at the white dev-mode screen, nothing seems to happen except that ctrl-d no longer starts ChromeOS until the next power cycle (the machine appears to hang; ctrl-i also produces no output at this point). Here's a lovely shot of the output from 'crossystem': http://imgur.com/I0sbBU6 . Thanks for any suggestions you can offer!

Hi there. I'm having the same problem with my Dell Chromebook. Hitting Ctrl-L for me just causes a black screen or freezes at the OS recovery screen. Hopefully this gets fixed soon!

@nop & @indigo -
Hopefully these are isolated incidents or just a problem with the current bios/version. They just recently updated the Development Info. pages to include details about Legacy boot and SeaBIOS but the new Dell model still links to the Google Education Sales page. Surely these models have SeaBIOS (???), I guess you could file a bug report and find out for sure though.
