RE: uninstalling?

I have an old ' HP Desktop XP 2002,Pkg3. I am trying to keep it going.
I had At&t clean it up for me,defrag and all that but I have very low
virtual memory. I cant even install Anti-Virus at this time because of
the memory. I know I need to buy an extension for more memory.
However, I noticed that Google Chrome takes up a tremendous amount of
space. I would hate to get rid of it, but I am tired of being frozen
and getting messages saying kill or wait for pages,etc.
Therefore I was hoping if I uninstall it I would have more memory.I
also have Internet Explorer. I have both on separate buttons on my
desktop.
Question-
*A) is-is this true? B) If I uninstall would I lose data? How does
this work? Any suggestions? I was hoping somehow I can keep some of it
and get rid of other parts? Please help. I need this computer to
survive! I would appreciate any suggestions.
