Hi everybody,

I tried to achieve something that seemed quite basic to me at first glance, until I ended up realizing that it isn't.
That's my use-case:
Connect to a remote Windows machine by RDP, that uses two physical monitors, using my Chromebook that is also connected to two screens.

On the physical Windows machine the screens are configured to extend the Desktop - both screens are showing the taskbar and feel like seperate workspaces (maximizing a window is limited to the current screen etc.), but it's also possible to stretch the windows over both screens.
In most cases, I won't do that. However, especially when I connect to a remote machine by RDP, the RDP Client on Windows extends over both screens so that it feels like you're sitting in front of the physical machine.

When I try the same on my Chromebook, I'm not able to achieve this behavior. I've tried it with the RD Client Android App from Microsoft (which probbaly failed to run on both screens due to Android limitations) and also with xrdp and Remmina (that actually use xrdp under the hood).
XRDP is supposed to be capable of presenting multiple screens in the RDP session, but I haven't made it on my Chromebook.
The "Unified Desktop" feature didn't help either. And even if it would, this mode has too many drawbacks in terms of performance and overall OS behavior. At least on my hardware.

There is a 3rd party Chrome App called XtraLogic that can do that, so it cannot be impossible. But this extension, which is a paid and proprietary product, would be the very last option for me in regards of trust.

Finally, the question is if there's any way to realize what i'm trying to achieve inside the Linux or Android subsystem?
Did anyone run into the same situation and managed to solve it?
Unless there's no way by now, I'm wondering if this is a feature that can be implemented with little effort.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Sven
