I noticed there's a new flag: chrome://flags/#quick-unlock-fingerprint

Are you using fprint or something inhouse? Will USB fingerprint scanners be supported or are they deemed too insecure?

i don't think there are plans to support external USB devices as we can't guarantee their security model.  we don't want to support devices that are bad (will say every finger print matches) or that can hold & exfiltrate your biometric data (so someone unplugs the device, plugs it in elsewhere, and downloads your data for use elsewhere).

Thanks. I had a feeling the answer would be "no" after looking around fprint documentation.
