Unable to create a recovery Flash Drive using Chromebook Recovery Utility

HI Everyone,

I'm using a mac (macOS Ventura 13.6.1) and when using the Chromebook Recovery Utility tool I get an error when I get to the step of deleting and formating the Flash Drive. I get ask for credentials and after inputing them I get the following error: "Unknown error: Failed to open Device... Please try again.

I have reformated the flash drive with Disk Utility on mac but still getting this error. It looks like permission issue to me but not sure what to add or change to get this working.

if that still doesn't work, maybe the chromebook forums might have tips for how to get things working
