Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused about this - is "Google Chrome-OS" an independent
stand-alone operating system like Linux or Windows?, 'cos I've tried
looking around for an image file which I can download and make a live-
cd to "get a feel of it" but just can't find anything.....

Hi,

yes this is a standalone OS. but not like other OS's.. this is only
meant for web based applications........
means it is only having a browser as a GUI application. core of this
is linux kernel..
You can get the image of chromium OS from some sites like Hex's
site.... & take a look & feel of it by copying it to a usb drive & by
booting your machine from the usb stick..
instruction to get usb ready you can follow the instruction in the
same site.......

with regards,
MKS

You can't make a live CD of it, but you can make a bootable thumb
drive version. A popular and well maintained (but completely
unofficial) image can be found here:
