Will probably need the dmesg output as well to see if it is failing to load the firmware on a resume after the update.
You can check these resources and if your Flex device is in Developer mode you might be able to fix the issue, if it is not you are stuck either powering off and doing a cold boot to hopefully get the firmware loaded correctly or turning off the wireless. There isn't really an "airplane mode" in ChromeOS to try forcing it to reload the firmware the way you can with Android devices.
I'm not sure if switching to developer mode on Flex automatically triggers a Powerwash the way it does on a ChromeOS device, but back up your data if you decide to get deep into the weeds.
