Hey guys,
I just purchased the Samsung Chromebook CELES D25-D6E-ZGD-I4B and attempted to install Linux. This was obviously not as easy as going from a windows or Mac. Here's when I press tab:
recovery_reason: 0x5b / 0x00 No bootable kernel found on disk
VbSD.flags: 0x00004c00
Dev_boot_usb: 0
dev_boot_legacy: 0
dev_boot_signed_only: 0
This is on the "Chrome OS is missing or damaged." page on startup.
I attempted to install Linux by first going recovery mode -> developer mode -> using the terminal equivalent in chrome os. I then enabled launching a usb from non-google. I booted ubuntu 3 times and installed it every time, as I noticed that each time after erasing the disk and installing ubuntu, it was still launching into the chrome recovery. Now for some reason it will only let me boot google-approved USB and the USB recovery from the recovery tool is NOT recognized in either port.
What's my next plan of action?
