Hi,

[For those who are working on or using ARM/x86 firmware]

Summary: We have switched over to a new U-Boot based on 2011.12.

We have moved ahead 6 months on U-Boot, from 2011.06 to 2011.12. This U-Boot has some additional features, including exynos5 support. You will automatically move over to this when you next 'repo sync', unless you have cros_workon set for chromeos-u-boot.

The commit queue is now up and running, so we no longer need to chump submit.

The new U-Boot boots and runs on Seaboard, although you will not have a display or SPI flash. Most of the missing patches are trickling down from upstream so it would not be a lot of work to fix this if someone wants to volunteer.

You may find the U-Boot pages on chromium.org helpful:

For those of you who still want build the old U-Boot for another few days, you can run with a local manifest file, or:

$ cros_workon --board <board> start chromeos-u-boot
$ cd .../src/third_party/u-boot/files
$ git checkout cros/chromeos-v2011.06

Regards,
Simon
