Unable to connect Android devices to Chromebook through adb

I tried almost everything to get this working but adb just won't detect any device. Also, I'm using Acer Spin 13(i5 version)
Here are all the things that I have set up so far
1. Chromebook is in developer mode

2. Also, it's on the beta channel
3. Enabled adb debugging mode & Install from Unknown Sources in Chromebook

4. Enabled Linux support for Android Studio
5. Installed the latest version of adb from Linux terminal using this script
6. Tried everything from this developer page (I was able to connect Chromebook to my PC using the IP address after this)

One more thing, chrome://inspect page shows that my device is connected.
