Drivers Disappear!
http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=13111
Your issue was already reported in
http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=12528 and
http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=12628
Please search the issue tracker before reporting to avoid wasting your time
making videos of problems that have already been discovered, reported and
fixed.
The wipe of your stateful partition is what's causing your problem. Sorry
you can't see the first issue, but it refers to a partner device. Point is
that your issue (boot device, perform initial log in as a Guest for some
reason, sign out and then see that stuff gets wiped the next time you try
to log in) has already been diagnosed and fixed.
This problem is still in :
Chromium OS : 0.12.286.2011_03_16_1716 (Developer build -hexxeh) vanilla
x86-generic
Chromium : 12.0.705.0 (78337)
There for its not been fixed,
If you look at the images bellow, you well see that I have all my drivers
when I start Chromium OS for the 1st time,
when I logout and click shutdown then start it up again, it takes a bit
longer but i get to the logon screen and see I have no sound, no wifi, no
Ethernet, no nothing,
I get my wifi back by typing :
Ctrl-Alt-F2
Localhost : chronos
Password : facepunch
sudo rmmod brcmsmac
sudo modprobe brcmsmac
exit
Ctrl-Alt-F1
For anyone else with this problem Replace "brcmsmac" with the driver that
is not working,
when you start up for the 1st time, type "sudo lsmod" to find out what all
your drives are,
then do the command but with the driver that is missing,
if its working it well show up in "sudo ifconfig -a" or "sudo iwconfig"

This issue has nothing to do with the guest account, as I show my self only
using my account!
Still in
Chromium OS 0.12.338.2011_03_29_1641
Chromium 12.0.718.0 (79638)
The newest one, really been fixed cmasone

I'm sorry that your third-party build on unsupported hardware does not work
to your satisfaction. Perhaps reaching out to the the chromium os
community on the email lists as I've suggested in the past will be more
fruitful than expecting extensive one-on-one attention from the developers
on IRC during our workday.
Please take a look at my log files Cmasone, I'm sure this is a new problem,
just take a look please,
Thank you
Adam

If you'd gone to the email lists like I've asked several times now, someone
probably would have been able to help you sooner.
as it is, it looks like this is similar to your problem:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=13152
If you are unwilling to look through the mailing list history or even post
your questions to the mailing list(s), I think that participating in open
source communities will continue to be problematic for you.

This looks to be the same case as 13152. Both are broadcom wireless cards
which on a reboot with /mnt/stateful_partition/var/lib/preload-wifi-driver
set will cause problems loading any future module requests.
