Stylus-canvas web component?

Hi,
I'm hearing some rumors about a "<stylus-canvas>" web component for low latency inking. Is it real?
This npm package mentions it and claims to "expose" it: https://www.npmjs.com/package/stylus-canvas
Is this something that anyone has heard anything about? It's super difficult to get more info; basically nothing on Google...
Any input would be of great value.

Real in what sense? A web component is not a built in HTML element, it is a library like any other library.
