Offline Support For Chrome Web Speech Recognition

I am writing to see if the Web Speech API supports offline Speech Recognition, perhaps failing over to the OS Speech Recognition resources? Mac OS allows for dictation offline.

 

I have been unable to verify in Chrome Web Speech API documentation; however, I get a “network” error consistently when I attempt this so I am assuming yes.

 

If there is an implementation for a LAN “offline” use case, I would appreciate information on how to implement.
