We I just purchased a Chromebox thinking that it would be a excellent replacement/upgrade product for aging PC's and Sun Ray thin clients our customers are using today. The native features of the Chrome OS coupled with the capabilities provided by the SSH Terminal and Chrome RDP apps made this appear to be a very attractive approach, one that would provide all the functions required in our environment. However, one of our applications which runs in a xterm window, makes significant use of function keys and I cannot seem to determine how to get "normal" behavior of the F1-F12 keys in SSH Terminal. We are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse with the new Chromebox. The OS appears to be intercepting the key codes before they get to the terminal.
Is there a way to disable the shortcut keys mapped to the F1-F12 function keys and/or assign a modifier key to be used with the F-Keys to access the OS functions?
This is a Point of Sales transaction processing app and multi-key combinations to get normal function key behavior is not really an option.
