Hi All,

I'm reaching out to gain a better understanding of how SSH errors are generated and displayed within the SecureShell terminal. Specifically, I'm interested in exploring the possibility of adding a helpful message to SSH errors, potentially providing users with guidance or troubleshooting suggestions.

Could anyone shed some light on the process of SSH error generation and how these errors are presented in SecureShell? Additionally, any insights on how I might go about adding a custom message to these errors would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

it's just ssh :)

some of the errors aren't from the client, they're from the server. like auth errors, especially the banners. changing those involves only the server, not the client.

relay server errors are almost entirely from those servers. the client does a boring web redirect and relies on the server & browser to manage auth & cookies.

it might help if you could provide a screenshot of the specific failure mode you're looking at.
