Hi all,
I'm a regular user of the Secure Shell App. I got a warning today about migration from the Chrome app to the Chrome extension:
"Notice: Please migrate to the new Secure Shell extension (link).
Chrome Apps are deprecated, so this version will stop receiving updates.
Please see the migration guide (link) for more details."
Makes sense to me, and the migration guide (
https://chromium.googlesource.com/apps/libapps/+/HEAD/nassh/doc/app-to-ext-migration.md) has a bunch of good information. Apparently I already had the Secure Shell Chrome extension installed, so in theory, I was good to go. But from a user like me who's perspective is getting things done with Chrome without being a particularly savvy Chrome user, I wasn't clear how to actually use the Chrome extension instead of the Chrome app that I had pinned to my status bar.
I propose adding a blurb/link to the migration guide for the basics of using a Chrome extension. In my case, I just needed to know that you access unpinned extensions using the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome browser, and then have the option to pin any unpinned extensions. I forgot which extensions were in there; I usually pin what I need any forget about the rest.
Cheers,
Steve
