Sorry if these have already been requested/talked about.

First thanks every so much for Secure Shell, ever since I first started using chrome I've always wanted putty as a plugin.  I found out about this roughly a week ago and have not used putty since (at home or work).

Two features that would be nice are:

  1. Block Select (not sure of the appropriate name sorry) - in putty (or notepad++) you can press and hold alt to only select a block/region of characters instead of lines.  This allows you to copy only a certain column of data from output (like from sar or ls).  This is nothing major or even a killer feature it is just handy to have.

  2.  Session Logging - Even though they have forgotten my work requires me to keep session logs, it would be nice if this could generate a log.  This is where google drive integration would be nice.

Thanks

The tricky part here is that we leverage Chrome's default text selection behavior, which has no concept of block/rectangular selection.

If you're mostly concerned about using this in a text editor, you may already be able to do this.  Emacs' rectangle functions alread provide a richer set of commands than Secure Shell could.  See http://www.delorie.com/gnu/docs/emacs/emacs_68.html.  Vi has something similar: http://superuser.com/questions/208852/how-to-select-a-rectangular-range-in-vim

  2.  Session Logging - Even though they have forgotten my work requires me to keep session logs, it would be nice if this could generate a log.  This is where google drive integration would be nice.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if something like http://letteringjs.com/ could be used to allow block copying?

Thanks
