Seeking Guidance to Begin Contributions for GSoC 2026

I hope you are doing well.
My name is Yash Borkar, and I am currently a 3rd-year Computer Science Engineering student. I am very interested in participating in Google Summer of Code 2026 with your organization and contributing to open-source in a meaningful way.

I have hands-on experience in Python and Java development, along with a strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms. I am also actively developing my skills in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and I am eager to apply these skills to real-world open-source projects.

As I am new to the GSoC process, I would be grateful if you could guide me on how to get started. Specifically, I would appreciate help with:

• Understanding the codebase and project selection process
• Identifying beginner-friendly issues to contribute to
• Any recommended steps or resources for first-time contributors
