Dear [Mentor/Community Members/Project Maintainers],
I hope you are doing well.
My name is Yash Borkar, and I am currently a 3rd-year Computer Science Engineering student. I am very interested in participating in
Google Summer of Code 2026 with your organization and contributing to open-source in a meaningful way.
I have hands-on experience in Python and Java development, along with a strong foundation in
Data Structures and Algorithms. I am also actively developing my skills in
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and I am eager to apply these skills to real-world open-source projects.
As I am new to the GSoC process, I would be grateful if you could guide me on how to get started. Specifically, I would appreciate help with:
-
Understanding the codebase and project selection process
-
Identifying beginner-friendly issues to contribute to
-
Any recommended steps or resources for first-time contributors
I am enthusiastic, committed to learning, and excited to contribute consistently leading up to GSoC 2026.
Thank you for your time and support.
I look forward to your guidance and the opportunity to collaborate with this community.
