Inquiry regarding Open Source Contribution

Dear Chromium Team,

I am writing to express my interest in contributing to Chromium as an open source contributor.

I am a Computer Science student with interest in numerical analysis and maths-side of software development. I have reviewed the GSoC project archives from previous years, and I was particularly impressed by the depth of the technical challenges involved.

I am new to open source contribution. While I am confident in my coding and mathematical abilities, I want to make sure I approach the contribution workflow correctly and respectfully.  

So, I request guidance from you to kindly guide me how to proceed.
