I know this might not be the right topic, but I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I’ve submitted the official Google Docs whitelist form several times:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScFxMgvXlq2KMsp0UIM66pvThTF1hpojiXQTqyq9txW79OWag/viewform
and never got any response.

I can see the whitelist was updated in 2025 (there are extension IDs published in 2025 in the Google Docs client JS), so the process seems to be active.

I’ve searched around but couldn’t find a way to contact the team that manages the whitelist.

Any pointers on who to contact or where to ask would be really appreciated. Thanks!

We submitted to that form quite some time ago and never received a response.
We discovered sometime later by accident that our extension id was suddenly present in the approved google docs extension ids, so you could monitor it I guess?

However, I wouldn't bother. That doc is a for a now obsolete compatibility mode that will go away 'soon'.
Do not code your extension to use that.

We reached out to Google about that whitelist and their response was: "don't use that, it's going away 'soon' ".
They recommended building a Google Docs Add-on, but that also has issues.
So many issues that we didn't bother with it. Add-ons are not a solution.

On a sidenote:
If your extension is on the whitelist, you have to register the extension id using a specific google docs variable.
What happens if another extension has already one that?
What it there are multiple extensions that want to interact with Google Docs using this legacy method?
