Hi developers,
I used that url to give users of my extension (which modifies the new browser tab) the possibility of returning to the normal behavior of the new browser tab without deactivating the extension.
I have now noticed that this url no longer works on Chrome (but it continues to work on some Chromium-based browsers).
Should I consider this a bug or a Chrome choice?
Thank you

This was deprecated years ago, and finally recently removed. chrome://new-tab-page should provide the same behavior (and has for the time that chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html has been disabled). Is that usable for you?

Ok, thanks you Patrick.
I came to know about this remotion right now.
I've checked the URL you provide me (chrome://new-tab-page) and seems to work at 95% of my cases.
In MS Edge that url does not work (but is still working the old one)
and in Slimjet browser works, even if the new newPage show now the Google newPage insted the Slimjet default newPage.
I think it's an acceptable compromise though :-)

Appreciate the research! My expectation is that Microsoft would add support for it if they were contacted (https://github.com/microsoft/MicrosoftEdge-Extensions/issues). I have not spoken to the slimjim developers before, but they do have a bug reports area.

best of luck!
