API to clear the cache

Is there an API for clearing the cache? If so, there is one plugin I'd
build.

One of the more useful plugins for FireFox was the one-click clear
cache button. This would be even more useful in Chrome, because it's
quite a bit of clicks to clear the cache, which is very annoying for
me that does it about 100 times per day.

Mattias, Click&Clean is a plugin/extension for Chrome that will help
you to:
- Empty cache
- Delete your browsing history,
- Remove download history,
- Erase temporary files,
- Remove Flash Cookies (LSOs)

Click&clean only works on windows, I am filing a defect report,
requesting this API...
