Hello,

My company has been using one of the 2 NPAPI-driven extensions to open clickonce applications.  The one we have been primarily using (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/eeifaoomkminpbeebjdmdojbhmagnncl) has been removed from the store and the other (clickonce-helper - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clickonce-helper/mdooolbdbmjaobhdondofgdmnbidlgfh) is no longer searchable, and according to the NPAPI phase-out timeline, will be removed from the store  by the end of the year at the latest.  The ability to use chrome and open clickonce applications is an important function to us.  Which leads to the following questions:

1.  Is it/(will it be) possible with successive technologies (PPAPI, Native Client etc...) to open clickonce applications with the Chrome browser?
2.  Is anyone aware of anyone currently working toward building an extension using Chrome's newer technologies? And if not, can anyone provide specific technical guidance on how we might start the process of developing this extension? Or have any other suggestions on how this might be achieved?

Best Regards,
David Dodson

Possible roadmap:

1. You need to inject content script on every page where ClickOnce is needed, detected.
2. Develop and compile Native Messaging Host.
3. When user click on Install button, content script cooperate with a Native Messaging Host.

Native Messaging Host must be installed on user computer. If you need to run installation packages as admin, host must be installed as admin also!
