Hello,

I am utilising the chrome.sidePanel API to load a website in an iframe.

When I go to login, my password manager does not show, so I have to type manually. Not a huge deal but when I go to the login page in a new tab, I can use the password manager.

Also, when I close the side panel and open it again the website's cookie banner shows even if I have previously accepted it.

I have tested this with my own extension and also the "Open in Sidebar" extension - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/open-in-sidebar/ekcledpomlimppndbkaniiimmajapfna

Is anyone able to shed any light on this?

Sounds like this is caused by storage/cookie partition and it's a bug because according to the official documentation for this feature when an extension has host_permissions for the iframe's URL the embedded site should be considered as first-party.

Strangely the login cookies work but the cookie banner always reappears. Obviously it doesn't reappear in a normal tab. Maybe the cookie banner uses a different domain? Will look into it.
