I like Chrome's lightweight client, but....
I use bookmarks to open local word documents such as file:///C:/stuff/shaq.doc
However, when I click on these links in Chrome, It offers to download
them. They are already on my PC, Why would anyone want to download
them again!!??
I have tried the LocalLinks - Version: 1.1 extension
https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/jllpkdkcdjndhggodimiphkghogcpida
It doesn't work for opening documents.
People on other boards say to do cntrl+O, but that opens a windows
explorer that has nothing to do with google.
I just want to be able to click on a link and have my word docs open
like every other browser.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

Thanks,
Crzzy1

This is not an extension issue. Please post a bug to new.crbug.com

Does FireFox open these Word documents inline?
If not, you should complain to Microsoft, for not creating (?) a plugin that will make Office documents open in browsers other than Internet Explorer.
