About two weeks ago we received this email regarding our extension with ID: imkngaibigegepnlckfcbecjoilcjbhf

Hey Developer,

Thank you for contacting us.

Your developer account was suspended from the Chrome Web Store for publishing the item that was engaged in malicious activities harmful to users. Given the nature of this violation your account will not be reinstated.

Do you believe this is a mistake?

Reply to this email with your justification.

Thanks,

Chrome Web Store Developer Support

As you can probably imagine this came as a complete shock to us. We replied immediately and have not heard back. We had been using a 3rd party library since the extension's inception and Google had never expressed any issue regarding this, neither during the review process, nor after. Obviously we are willing to update our code to match Google's current guidelines. Either by refraining from using any sort of third party library or, if permitted, to exclusively work with Google Analytics. We do not understand that the possibility of appealing this verdict seems to have been completely denied to us, especially considering that we have always prided ourselves on looking back on a long-standing and fruitful cooperation with Google. We are committed to resolving this issue and re-establishing our relationship with Google as soon as possible so we can further offer our service to our users.

Is there anyone here with experience or insight into the matter who could help us with this issue?

Best regards

Hi there,

We just experienced the same for which I opened a new thread. I too am at a loss for words as the account suspension happened with no opportunity appeal or justify anything. Here is what I wrote:

Hi All,

Our publisher account was suspended late yesterday and apps taken down. This happened with no rationale beyond one we got within the latest app submission we attempted which resulted in a Rejection:

Upon a subsequent review, we found that your item has been rejected as it is engaging in malicious activities harmful to users. This is not allowed as per Chrome Web Store policies.

Our app update only added 1 note-worthy library:
Amplitude (for tracking user interaction with the product so that we can deliver better features)

Questions:
  1. How does one appeal an account suspension?
  2. Has anyone experienced issues with adding tracking libraries to applications? I imagine this is standard practice as a means to deliver better features and functionality to an application's user base.
Help is much appreciated!
