I need to change my product's identifier due to a technical error on the website I access while using my extension. Can you tell me how I can change it?

Hello
Do you mean the extension ID? If so, you cannot change that. You would need to just upload a new item to the chrome web store. If that is not what you meant, can you elaborate a bit on what your issue is?

The extension ID is the first 32 characters of the PEM key that is used to sign the extension. Unless you supply one yourself manually, then Chrome Web Store will generate this key automatically. As a result, uploading an identical extension would not result in getting the same extension ID.

That being said, uploading a new item seems like the completely wrong solution. I would first check to see if your extension hast the host_permission declared for the domain you are requesting.

Best of luck

I'd also like to describe the problem in more detail. Perhaps you can help. Please look at the screenshot: if the request is sent with the origin parameter, a 403 error is returned, but without it, the request goes through just fine. There's clearly a problem on the website's end, but the problem is that this parameter can't be disabled if the extension was installed through the Chrome Store. If you have any ideas on how to resolve this issue, I'd be happy to hear from you. Thank you.

you cannot change an extension ID. You upload it to get a new one. That being said, don’t do that. It will not solve your problem.

Unfortunately, I misunderstood you. Is there a way to change the extension ID?

Look at the screenshots. The problem is that the domain I'm accessing accidentally blocked my ID. I've already contacted the owner, but that's taking a long time. Is there any way I can change the ID or restrict the origin check when making a request?

If you create a new item in the chrome web store, you will get a new ID.

Do not do this. It will not fix anything for you. The exact same problem will happen with that extension ID.

I don't understand you again. Will a new project generate a new ID? Or am I wrong?
