Chrome 12.0.742.122:

1. chrome://extensions/, Developer Mode, "Load unpacked extension..."
- installed my extension.
2. Uninstall the extension; it is correctly removed from the
extension list.
3. Restart Google Chrome; the extension is still listed in chrome://extensions/,
and appears to be fully-functional.

Anyone else can reproduce this?

Has anyone else noticed this bug?
Arne, PhistucK?

I have not.  Does this happen with all extensions, or only a certain extension?

Arne:

It seems that this happens if you "Load unpacked extension..." that
has "key" specified in manifest.json.
How to reproduce:

1. Download the source code for the first sample extension listed on
http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions/samples.html ("A browser
action which changes its icon when clicked" - the direct download link
is http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions/examples/api/browserAction/set_icon_path.zip).
2. Unzip the file. On my machine, I saved the source in C:\temp
\set_icon_path.
3. Add the following line to manifest.json:

"key":
"MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQDms6sao8oRHdfTtyyQLml77h9mi5weLaB6avnVnOIRltOH7Pw3y7u9wDnA2PgREv0RSmERJWaQCnPXwj8tJoNljQPjigGmCfz6RBIiHkBGtN/
laNQSpTmYnvrRPKJoTNP2UM6e8gGM3rDgsCznEG4LsUNu4haAr93lUZ7qoTiOEwIDAQAB",

(I created the key by first packing the extension - "Pack
extension..." button on chrome://extensions/, w/o providing private
key file.)

4. Now, "Load unpacked extension..." from C:\temp\set_icon_path. The
extension works fine.
5. Uninstall the extension; restart Chrome.
6. After the restart, the extension is still there.

Thanks

Hm, I wasn't able to reproduce on Linux dev channel, but since you have steps to reproduce on Windows, please file a bug by following these instructions:

Make sure to include the version, platform, and the way to reproduce in the report.

Thanks!
