I accidentally clicked unpublish for bcbdfklhjmhkhdloghmimgomcllhnd. I changed the permissions of the chrome extension removing activeTab, then realized this might be a mistake, I clicked unpublish hoping to remove the draft version. Now I am waiting for a review I'm not sure I want while my previous version does not exist on the chrome store. The wait time for a permissions change seems like it can be 7 days in most cases, and up to 3 weeks in extreme. Is there any way you can address this? I think it's a bit ridiculous that my live version has been down for 4 1/2 days because I accidentally clicked unpublish and there is no way to restore it and I have to wait several weeks for a revision I am not sure I want. I've followed up on multiple similar threads over the past few days, sent emails to chrome support, and have received no response regarding how things will proceed.

Here are the other threads I had posted on; I wasn't inclined to make a new thread, but I don't think these threads were fully addressed. My situation is closer to what is being discussed in the first thread.

I'm afraid there likely won't be a satisfactory answer here. As you said, unpublishing an item removes it from the web store and getting back in requires you to submit a new version and for it to pass review. Additionally, there's currently no way for a developer to cancel a publish request once it gets past a certain point in the review queue. While I'm hopeful that we'll address these issues in the future, none are currently scheduled as we're dealing with several other higher priorities.

Cheers,

Hi Simeon,
Thank you for the reply. That makes sense, and I appreciate your clear answer on what the process will be like and why. I heard back from the chrome extensions developer support team as well, and I think it'll be resolved soon.
Best, Aditya

*Resolved soon for my extension. Wouldn't have received any information on when these issues will be mitigated through features. :)

We are in exactly the same boat. We wanted to cancel a review and instead accidentally removed the whole thing from the store :( Been waiting 2 days on review now

I like GitHub's approach and wish Google would steal it:

Click any of these buttons and you get this:

You guys are literally from Google, you have all the resources in the world, and you cannot deliver features that a high school student could code up half drunk in a single weekend.

That is sad and I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not surprised though, this team is embarrassingly terrible at their jobs.

Ye we are really unhappy about this at the moment but we dont blame the team.

From what I can tell the team IS Simeon and he is trying to do the best he can.

I think the fault lies with Google who doesnt seem to value the Webstore and hasnt for many years.

I couldnt tell you the reason why that is however given the sheer number of users and developers that rely on it.

Hy,

I did exactly the same mistake !!! Is there any solution to revert and publish back the current version of my extension, not the future version in review process ?

Thank's

I thought we clicked the unpublish button outside of language issues as a small probability mistake. I didn't expect to find a discussion here from 4 years ago.
It looks like after 4 years this issue still hasn't been taken seriously.🤣

Like above, we noticed that there was a small optimization that was not added. We tried to terminate the review and republish it, but we clicked on "unpublish”, thinking it meant to terminate the review. Now our plugin has been taken down from the store.

We are very anxious and hope to get back to it soon, and hope to make up for the mistake due to language and understanding issues. 😭
