Extension is not working as expected while we change site access permission

I am the developer of the "Avnio RFx" extension, and I have some questions about the "Site access" permission, how it works, and what the benefits are.

"On specific sites" permission: I changed the "Site access" permission to "On specific sites" and added "w3schools.com" as a site, yet our extension works on any site (even wikipedia.org). So, could you please tell us how this feature works, what the benefits are, and what changes are required on the development end to use it?

"On click" permission: I'm also changing the "Site access" permission to "On click", yet our extension works on all websites. So, could you please tell us how this feature works, what the benefits are, and what changes are required on the development end to use it?
