Just wondering if it is possible to change HTTP-headers via an
extension, or if it's possible to change (or add a string to) the User-
Agent (as sent in HTTP headers, not navigator.userAgent)?
If it isn't possible, do anyone know if and when this would be
possible, if there is any plans to implement this feature?

I've asked on the #chromium IRC-channel, but I'm asking here too to be
sure.
<+thakis_> Far^Side: as far as I know, we don't expose the network
stack to extensions
<+thakis_> Far^Side: the chromium-extensions mailing list would know
for sure

Search crbug.com for an issue regarding this request, there are some.
This feature is a work in progress. They are currently implementing the webNavigation and webRequest experimental APIs, which are non blocking (meaning, you cannot edit\change\abort requests\navigations). In the future, they plan to allow to make some kind of changes to the requests\navigations, but first a non blocking API must be finalized.

We're also waiting for these new features in Chromium. But there is
nothing more than promises yet though 1.5 year has passed already.
So we have to stick the project to Firefox, because it has rich API
and complete documentation.
