Hello Chromium Extensions team,

I would like to request for assistance.  We have a chrome extension which has been around since 2016. Although we use some sensitive and restricted scopes, we opted not to go through OAuth verification because our application is designed to be installed on a per-domain basis. Our extension is a Google Workspace admin-trusted extension.

Starting October 21, 2024 however, we started experiencing multiple OAuth errors. It ranges from 'OAuth not granted or revoked', 'OAuth2 request failed: Invalid credentials (credentials rejected by server)' and 'OAuth2 request failed: Service responded with error: Service has been disabled for this account.'.

For some users however, it works as designed without any issues.

Since it is affecting over hundreds and thousands of our users, I would like to request assistance on how to resolve this issue. Was there a change in the policy resulting to some OAuth limitations? Why is this happening even if we were whitelisted by the organization?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

Apologies for the delayed response here. I'm not aware of any changes, but the behavior you're reporting definitely sounds surprising.

Have you opened a Google Cloud ticket? This mailing list is only monitored by the extensions team, so that would be the best way to reach the right people in this case.

Thanks,
