I have a chrome extension that works together with our webApp, and we have been beta-testing for some time and it is set as "Unlisted". Now we are ready to launch our website with the webApp, but I need to be sure we can have this done in sync.
  • There is a way to have the Extension review process done before hand, and just "enable" the extension to the public at the same time our web site will be launched?
  • If an extension was set with "Visibility Option" = Unlisted, and I just set to Public and apply the change, the extension will require a new Review ( which can take hours or days)?
  • Do I need to Unpublish a extension and then publish again when changing from "Visibility Option" = Unlisted to Public?
Best Regards,
RDL

Hi,

I've found that if you upload a new extension and just save it as a draft that the 60-minute review happens in the background - when you actually come to publish the extension, the new version is available immediately.  This doesn't work if the extension needs to go through a manual review.

I'd also advise that even if you set the extension to Public, it will not appear immediately in the Chrome webstore search results, so it might just be worth publishing as Public slightly earlier anyway.

You don't need to unpublish and then republish to change visibility.

Cheers,
Simon
