Hi
Is it possible to integrate amplitude for tracking in the extension? Does it have any side effects? I read somewhere that sending events to analytics server by direct fetch call is not allowed in the extenson and can flag your extension. Is this so?

Thanks.

Hi Nefees,
I haven't implemented it myself, however I know that there are a number of extensions on the Chrome Web Store that are on manifest v3 and also use the amplitude JS SDK. You absolutely can make fetch calls in an extension - I think what you are referring to is actually about the removal of support for Remote Hosted Code in manifest v3. Here is a video explaining it a bit.

My Manganum uses Amplitude. However, we work exclusively via HTTP API. It is not difficult and allows 100% control over the data sent.
