Random user reports of "Package Invalid: Could not load icons" error

Hello all!

For my extension Tidy Tab Groups, some users are reporting that they are unable to install and load the extension to the aforementioned error message. I have tried to reproduce it myself, but I am consistently able to download and install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Any ideas? Is this an issue on my end or on the Chrome Web Store end?

One user reports they are on Chrome version 126.0.6478.120

Also, they are on ChromeOS. They said that they stopped receiving Chrome updates so they cannot update to the latest version.

Hi Moe,

I'm not aware of any known issues here - and you're using a PNG which is the required icon format.

I'd encourage you to open a bug if you're regularly hearing reports of this though as it is something we would want to investigate.
