How to open Windows File Explorer from Chrome Extension?

Hello, 

I have a question about how to open Windows File Explorer with url like "file:///C:/~" from Google Chrome Extension.

I could open this url in browser, but I don't know how to open in File Explorer. (It may be impossible)

I have tried in Javascript like this.

Window.open("file:///C:/~");

or

chrome.tabs.create({url: "file:///C:/~"});

but then open in browser both ideas.

Does anyone have idea?

It is impossible using JavaScript alone.

You can create a native messaging host and communicate with it and it will open whatever you need.
