Chrome Web Store Developer Registration Not Available in Sri Lanka

Hello,

I am a developer from Sri Lanka interested in publishing Chrome extensions on the Chrome Web Store. However, I noticed that Sri Lanka is not listed among the supported countries when trying to register as a developer and pay the $5 fee.

I have seen discussions about this issue affecting other countries, but I haven't found an official solution. Could you please clarify:

1. Is there an official way for developers from Sri Lanka to register and publish extensions?
2. Will Google expand support for more countries in the near future?
3. Are there any recommended alternatives for Sri Lankan developers to publish Chrome extensions?

Hi Minidu,

Unfortunately Sri Lanka is not currently a supported country. There isn't an official way to register and publish extensions from there.

We do want to expand the list in the future. I don't have a timeline to share I'm afraid, but the team is very aware that this comes up often.

I can't recommend any specific alternatives. I know developers have found various workarounds which you might have seen mentioned in the threads but those aren't something we can endorse.
