Sharing an Extension by mobile apps or email

I would like to solve the issue of:

* User views an advertisement for an extension on social media on their MOBILE PHONE.

* User clicks the advertisement and then is somehow able to install the extension on their desktop, or be reminded to do so in future.

What recommended ways are there of doing this? 

How can a user, from a mobile device (given a link or similar) be able to install a browser extension on their desktop device now or later, or be given a reminder to do so?
