Hello team,

Based on what is mentioned in the blog post, v3 manifest is now available.

In order to coordinate our efforts is it possible to know more information in regards to when it is expected to go in production? Also when the transition period for v2 will end?

The information in the group chats are back to 2019.

Can you please provide us with any further updates?

Thank you.

Thank you for the information.

Apart from the pattern that I can detect, do we have something more concrete?

We need to allocate development time for this task, and we have a number of other tasks that the team works on.

Please let me know with something specific for v2 > v3.

It's in prod now: Chrome Stable supports MV3 and Chrome Web Store is accepting MV3 uploads.

Also when the transition period for v2 will end?

We do not have a firm timeline. The only concrete guidance I can share is that we currently expect the transition period will last at least 1 year.

Cheers,

Simeon, any MV3 extension that uses chrome.webRequest is broken at this time. The bug was reported in November 2019. MV3 may be in Chrome stable, but is MV3 usable?

Hi Simeon,
We are currently building a new extension and wondering if we should start with V2 and move to V3 in a few months. This depends on the timeline, when you said "the transition period will last at least 1 year" do you mean that, like in V1, you will start the readiness in a year, or do you expect that within a year you will stop support V2?

Thanks!
