Hi all,

We are developing Chrome Extension for quite a long time (and it does change that much) but after new version came out (76 beta) extension started to crash with message "This extension may have been corrupted".

Few things worth to mention:
1) Nothing changed in the extension itself, no new version was uploaded
2) Downgrading Chrome helps (extension works on version 75)
3) I cannot see any error message, just crashes and closes page after trying to open it

Is there any way I can check what is wrong? I cannot see any logs saying why it crashes.

OS: macOS 10.14.5, Chrome 76.0.3809.46
Link to extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/crazycall-click-to-call/cnlibahlccceecnjljbjhbpmkggfekkn

Thanks in advance!

Are you using `chrome.browserAction.setIcon`  anywhere in your code? We had an issue with our extension that those calls were causing the extension to claim it was corrupted on install, but oddly, only on ChromeBooks.

Unfortunately not, we have some other browserAction calls but even removing from the code doesn't help.

The question is: how did you find out that this particular function was causing the error?

Ok, I've created an issue in Chromium bug tracker and it turned out it's an issue introduced with some commit: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=982001#c2
