My extension was recently taken down for a Purple Nickel violation.
I made necessary updates to my Privacy Policy and resubmitted it, and had a quick response within ~12 hours, but got a rejection with a different violation Purple Potassium - the violation stated that I had requested for permissions (notifications) un-used by my app.
This made sense because we had previously temporarily removed some app functionality on notifications because we were working on iterating that feature in our app. We didn't catch this policy violation earlier because, the version with the commented out notification functionality was previously already approved and published by the Chrome Web Store (before the Purple Nickel violation takedown)
Since we do in fact want to have that feature rather than removing it entirely, I added it back into the code, explicitly requested users to grant us permissions for notifications, and re-submitted the extension (hence no longer requesting un-used permissions)
I submitted this latest version 5 days ago and it is still in-review, is there any chance it got stuck somewhere or is it normal that this is now taking a long time to process?
This feels much longer than I expected given that all previous reviews of my extension including when i originally / first submitted it took 1-3 days.
I'm really anxious because we have thousands of paying users depending on this being resolved, is there anything I can do besides waiting on the review to complete?
Appreciate any advice!
