Hi all,

My extension's Featured badge was recently removed. I believe this may have been due to some issues that were brought to my attention, which I addressed and resolved immediately. However, the badge has not been reinstated since then.

Could you please clarify if this is expected behaviour, or if there's anything else I need to do to have the badge restored?

My extension ID is ggaabchcecdbomdcnbahdfddfikjmphe.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Steven.

Hi everyone,

Following up on my previous question about the featured badge, here's an update for those interested:

I re-applied for the badge via the 'one stop shop'. However, the application was rejected. The feedback email stated that the item is ineligible for the badge for 90 days due to "SEO keyword stuffing" found in the description. This was the issue I mentioned earlier that I fixed.

The following was added by AI when I asked it to help improve my item description:
🚀 SEO Keywords: Screen capture, screen recording, GIF recorder, WebM video, Chrome extension, productivity tool, visual communication, editing suite, collaboration.

Apparently, explicitly listing keywords like this is considered stuffing and violates the policy, leading to the 90-day restriction. Considering these keywords were clearly labeled, had previously passed review, and were removed immediately once I understood the issue, I must admit I find this 90-day penalty quite harsh and disappointing.

So, a word of warning: be very careful about what ends up in your item descriptions, especially if using AI assistance. Double-check that it doesn't add explicit keyword lists or text that could be flagged as stuffing. Lesson learned!
