Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice regarding an item rejection for "Defective functionality."

My extension is designed to work in tandem with a companion desktop application. To function correctly, the reviewer must install a .exe setup file and activate a license key within the extension popup. Even though I provided a Drive link with the installer and a step-by-step installation guide, it seems the reviewer was unable to reproduce the core functionality.

Has anyone dealt with reviews for extensions that require external software dependencies? How do you best ensure the reviewer follows the installation steps instead of marking the extension as broken?

Thank you for your insights!

Hi Mouhssin,
Did you include test instructions with your submission? If not, please resubmit including it. If you did, then it sounds like there was a mistake on our part and I would ask that you open an appeal on One Stop Support (https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/one_stop_support)

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your reply. I also have uploaded an installation guide to the Google Drive with the software.

I have filed an appeal and am currently awaiting a response.
