Why some extensions have no user count shown?

For example:

- https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/gmail/pjkljhegncpnkpknbcohdijeoejaedia

- https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/google-drive/apdfllckaahabafndbhieahigkjlhalf

There are also extensions that seems to show user counts some days, then the user count may disappear for a few days, then back. e.g.,

What can be causing these behaviors?

Some of the patterns linked to malware... some just to try to promote/demote extensions? Trying to modify the ranking algorithm...

Hi all,

We hide the user count when we're not confident it accurately represents an extension, and the user count can come back in the future if things stabilize. An example of when this can happen is following a large enterprise deployment.
