Serving ads from networks other than AdSense within extensions

Hello,

I understand that it is not allowed to serve ads from AdSense inside extensions, as stated on this page. However, the same page explains at the same time usage policies for ads within extensions.

Does that mean that ads are allowed within extensions generally, and that only ads from the AdSense network in particular are prohibited (and not ads from other networks)?

Hi again,

There's no blanket prohibition of ads within extensions.

As you mentioned, some networks like AdSense don't currently have a policy which allows this. In fact, this is unfortunately what I have found with most ad networks I have looked at in the past since they are optimising for the web more broadly. I'd love to try and improve that situation in the future.

If you can find a provider you're happy with though, and you're compliant with other policies, you're welcome to incorporate ads.
