How to sign up to Chrome Web Store as organization

My extension has my personal details listed, as my Chrome Web Store's account type is individual, not organization.

I understand this type is inherited from the linked payments profile, which was created and verified when I registered as a developer. (https://developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore/register).

I want to switch to an organization account, not a individual one. I know I need to create a new developer account and transfer my extension to this using one stop support (i.e., I cant just change the account type).

But how do I register for an organization developer account? I tried signing up from scratch with a fresh Google account and there's no option to do this - it goes straight into identify verification via personal documents.

Do I need to start paying for Google Workspace to do this?

Hi Andy,

If you mean how to set up a group account, the docs for that are here. Unless you are referring to Trader Verification? If you need to change from an individual to an organization (or vice versa) you need to create a new payment profile. This can be done by changing from a trader to a non trader and then back to a trader. Once the verification flow starts select a new payment profile, and from there you can select Individual or Organization.

Hey Patrick.

Nope, not group account.

I mean showing my company details name than my actual (personal) name on the Chrome store listing. Changing to non-trader, then back to trader, has done the trick, thanks. It'd be great if this was documented somewhere, unless I missed it.
