got letter today from:
chromewebst...@supportchromestore.com




replied right away to the letter, that this is a mistake and my extension doesn't need a webRequest

also filed a ticket at 
https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/one_stop_support?hl=en

and now I'm suspicious 
what is this email chromewebst...@supportchromestore.com ?? 

is it even legit ? or I just got baited on a classical phishing... 😅

I have never heard of this domain, and it was registered three weeks ago. It is phishing. If you can forward the original email to me I would appreciate it.

Maybe it's helpful. I think scammers got this with pretty good social engineering trigger.

I got this letter in minutes after releasing a new version of extension.
And that's why I fell into this right away ) 

I presume they are monitoring extensions releases and once new version is pushed, their script executed the phishing letter delivery.
