We had a one-line code critical change submitted early AM and have been pending review for 8+ hours now - usually these clear within an hour or so

I know there was slowness a few weeks ago - would love to know if this is happening again so we can communicate effectively to our users on when the update will go live

Thanks Team!

What is your extension ID?

Hi Ajinkya,
There isn't a general slowdown, but I am looking into your specific extension submission to see if there is a problem with it. Ill update asap.

Awesome thanks! In case it's helpful, we added an extra query selector for one of the pages our extension works on.

Our code is unminified and using MV3 with least permissions access (eg using optional permissions where possible) - not sure if there's anything else we could be doing to improve review speed

Our team is asking if reverting and resubmitting our extension will get us out of this pending review state.

We have been out for the full day now because of this delay and are hoping to see a resolution soon - any guidance would be well appreciated!

Hi Ajinkya,
No, submitting again would not help.
There was a backlog at the time ouyou submitted, but it is resolving and catching up now. I apologize for my incorrect statement earlier, I missed the alert when the backlog was triggered. There is nothing for you to do, it will be published asap.

Apologies for the delay
patrick

Sounds good - we'll keep an eye on it tonight to see if we get the approval through - appreciate the quick response here.

Do you have a time estimate (e.g., within 12 hours) of when we could expect approval just so we can communicate to our users. Several of them have asked us to get them on developer versions of the extension in the meantime but we want to avoid doing so unless this will take >1 day

by the way - looks like it’s happening again - not sure if there’s some slowness happening during working hours for extension processing

Echoing Todd's comment - we did another submission today morning and have been stuck for another 8+ hours (another slight 1 line code-change). Is it better if we don't submit in the AM to avoid these backlog queue issues?

Apologies folks. Some reviews take longer than others. It is not attached to working hours per se. There is a queue that is more or less FIFO - so delaying a submission to go in outside of working hours would only put you further back in the queue.

If there is anything you can do differently to prevent it from happening, Ill absolutely share it.

It would be great if you could publish the current queue backlog time on some sort of status page. We push a lot of *non* critical updates that we'd love to only submit for review when the backlog is short. We'd want this because we want our extension to be in review for the shortest amount of time possible so we have the flexibility to submit critical updates. We'd delay submitting non-critical updates until the queue was short.

This would also help you smooth out the submission rate.

Hi Arun,

I've taken a look on our side and your item is still in the queue. I don't see anything that looks unexpected (although I appreciate four days is on the longer end).

Can you let us know if this is still outstanding in a couple of days (say Thursday) and I'd be happy to escalate this.

Hi Oliver,

Could you help us too, ours has been in review for over 5 days now for a minor update, and we have hundreds of clinics affected by this, we are losing money rapidly and have lost credibility with our customers as we assured them this wouldn't take more than 2-3 days at most:S
 Here's our extention ID: eeipepgbohkeoigfndhikogkacealcfn

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Oliver, we are too!:) We are wondering though should we be calculating with longer wait times nowadays? In the past we didn't usually need to wait for than a few hours to a day so we are trying to assess if this median approval time has changed of late so we can better manage our customer's expectations in the future. Any input on this is greatly appreciated.

Ty,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I believe last weekend there was a slightly longer review time, but things are mostly back to normal now.

I would definitely avoid leaving updates to the last few hours as much as possible - of course I know sometimes it is unavoidable. A few days should be a good ballpark though with the understanding that there will always be some variance and some reviews may go faster or take longer somewhat unpredictably.

Thanks,

Just another +1 that we should have the ability to pay for an expedited review. It doesn't seem right that extensions that may be the lifeblood of a legitimate company have to wait in a queue with potentially 1000s of one-off extensions, many of which are mass produced one-off experiments.

I agree with Don 100%. Isn’t there a way to separate the queues between upgrades, 1st time submissions and “tests”?
